The City anticipates that the total amount generated by the local sales tax will fund 30 million dollars ($30,000,000) in new capital improvements and betterments plus associated costs for debt service on any bonds issued to finance or refinance such capital improvements, and that the tax will last for a period of 13 years; however, the tax may be retired earlier if the costs of the capital improvements and associated debt service have been paid from revenues collected over a shorter period.
